I Was Running

Forrest Gump: Now you wouldn’t believe me if I told you, but I could run like the wind blows. From that day on, if I was ever going somewhere, I was running

I wish I could say I could “run like the wind blows” just like good ol’ Forrest, but I’m just doing my best to get to 2 miles without having to slow down! With only 4 months until The Relay, I’m getting serious THIS WEEK. Yes my friends, I’m bundling up to hit the pavement tomorrow! Wish me luck in the coooooold Utah air!

  1. Marie, this is the week I get serious too. I got up at 6am and headed into the cold, dark, still-night and ran 3 miles with only a little walking. I’m aiming for 30 miles in the span of four weeks. I figure anything that falls before “new years resolution” time is bonus. Good for you!

  2. Heather – Yay! I still have yet to make it out the door, it SNOWED!! But I think I’ll dust off my gym membership and hit the treadmill.

And I love the 30 miles in 30 days idea. That’s about 2-3 miles a few times a week. Very doable!! I’m actually going to be making a 4 month chart soon!

  3. I’m printing up a training guide and starting Friday. Yikes!

  4. I start Monday Sunday when hopefully, HOPEFULLY (crossing fingers and toes and everything else), all remnants of upper resp/sinus issues will be cleared up. I haven’t run in almost two weeks and even though I’m not a strong runner yet, I’m missing the cold air on my face.

    Go Marie!
