Where Kids Run: School Walk-a-thon

Each year at my children’s school they host a Walk-a-Thon! It’s to help raise money for the school and the PTA. You can choose to donate based on how many laps your child runs, which is what we do, hoping to encourage them to run faster.
That is my daughter in the photo, she loves to run. And everytime she’d come around the corner to meet us, she’d either hold out her hand for high-fives or blow the crowd kisses. She’s a natural at races already. And she made it around 16 times, which is 4 miles. All in 45 minutes. Way to go!!
Do your kids participate in walk-a-thons? They are the best!
If you’d like to send in a picture to be included in a future Where Kids Run post, e-mail eatblogrun [@] gmail.com and include: 1) photo; 2) name/link to attribute to the picture; and 3) brief description of what’s happening in the photo. Thanks!

My kids have a walk-a-thon too. Since it’s on the interior of their schoolyard, I never really thought of it as “real mileage” but it does add up. Go, kids, go!
