This Run Looks Fun: Awesome 80′s Run
When we decided to challenge the world to running for fun this fall, we each had to commit to signing up for our own fun run. For me, it had to be really fun. Then I discovered the Awesome 80s Run and I knew I found a winner. I asked the team behind these events to tell me more.
How long have you been organizing the awesome 80s runs? The idea came up in the beginning of July 2012.
What are the cities/dates? We are in many cities right now: Miami, Las Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco, and more. See the full list of cities and dates here: https://register.awesome80srun.com.
What should runners expect? Here are the top ten reasons to run this race starting with the totally awesome race t-shirts and bags: Like Oh-My God. Its the Awesome 80s Run.
What other events does superheroevents put on? We also do the Hollywood Half Marathon.
Anything else you’d like us to know? The inaugural ‘Awesome ‘80s Run’ sold out with 4,000 participants in less than two months. Read more about that accomplishment here.
Thanks for sharing with us! I’m so excited to join in the San Francisco event. If you live in any of these cities, you can still sign up for the Awesome 80s Run too: San Diego, San Francisco, Miami, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago, New York, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Seattle.

Awesome for sure! And I see they have Seattle. I’ll be signing up for this one. Madonna, here I come runnin’!!
They need to come to Boston!!
I think this would be fun! I love the 80′s. I need another job just to keep up with all the running events I want to do. For now I have to limit how many events I do each year.
Jessica, I’m impressed that you have many runs you want to do. I tend to have more excuses… sigh.
I want to do this. I have the socks to wear already. They need to come to Minneapolis next.
I did this race in Pasadena on September 1st. Worst race that I’ve ever done. Poor organization, lack of water….I could go on and on!
oh no, Julie! thanks for saying something. I’m signed up for the SF race (as I mentioned). I guess I’ll plan to tote my own fluids.
Julie, I’m glad you warned me. I just did the race this past weekend and you were right. Hearing from you lowered my expectations. I wonder what it says about me that I still had fun… but it was very poorly organized (low fluids, no food, 1 mile marker, LONGER than a 10k).
