Eat: tropical green smoothie

Ever since my two-week cleanse the smoothie has been a part of my regular breakfast and morning snack rotation. I love how I can drink a mega-dose of my daily fruits and vegetables in one go and then eat whatever I want for the rest of the day. Seriously.

My regular smoothie is a dark berry color that includes coconut water and a handful of spinach; pretty, yummy but also a little boring.

The other day, my BFF Whitney showed up at my house drinking a green smoothie and impressed me with her inclusion of kale! Not to be outdone, I discovered this recipe for a tropical green smoothie on simplegreensmoothies.com (a site started by a local blogger and runner that I hope to feature again!). Tomorrow, I plan to try it after my morning run as a recovery drink.

What color is your favorite smoothie? Could you go green?

I should do this. My smoothies always are fruity (pink, blue, etc.). I could use more greens!

  2. i LOVE green smoothies. I did a raw week and a juice week and spinach became my friend! I love to blend a big bunch of spinach with 1 apple and 1 orange. That’s it. It’s YUM!

@Christine, I bet if you tossed a handful of spinach into your normal pink smoothie, you’d barely notice the difference.

I bought a protein powder for my smoothies that has cacao in it — yum, and its awesome in milkshakes — and that seems to be the strongest taste in all my concoctions.

  4. Touche. Great arguments. Keep upp the good spirit.

I surprise how so much attempt you place to make this kind of wonderful informative site.
